Our Team

The editorial team behind This Amazing World — three writers with a shared obsession: telling the stories science leaves behind.

Alex Morgan

Alex Morgan

Science Writer & Editor-in-Chief

Alex leads the editorial direction of This Amazing World and writes our flagship Earth Science and geology features. With over ten years covering natural science for print and digital media, Alex has a gift for finding the human story inside a geological epoch.

When not writing, Alex is usually hiking ridgelines or mapping outcrops. Favourite article to date: “The Supervolcano Sleeping Under Yellowstone.”

Dr. James Carter

Dr. James Carter

Wildlife Biologist & Field Correspondent

James holds a doctorate in ecology from the University of Edinburgh and has conducted field research in the Amazon basin, the Serengeti, and the boreal forests of Scandinavia. He joined This Amazing World to bring first-hand scientific observation to our wildlife coverage.

James writes with precision and empathy — always insisting that conservation starts with curiosity.

Sarah Blake

Sarah Blake

Space & Astronomy Reporter

Sarah has been writing about space since she first saw Saturn through a backyard telescope. She covers the full spectrum of astronomy — from solar flares to galaxy formation — and has a particular passion for the search for life beyond Earth.

Her explainers on black holes, exoplanet atmospheres, and the James Webb Space Telescope have become some of our most-shared pieces.
